Premier League, Done & Dusted Already?


 Another busy weekend in the Premier League with some cracking goals flying in, so what did we learn?

  • It's Chelsea's title to lose. Jose has got 'his' team, they look strong at home and on their travels he will have a tactic in place to do the business, be it parking the bus or flowing attack. Also you may as well give Costa the golden boot now.

  • Man City still concede a lot of silly goals which this time could let them down.

  • Frank Lampard still has it. 

  • Arsenal, if they were serious about winning the title they have to beat Spurs at home simple as that.

  • Liverpool are finding life without Suarez bailing them out tough to deal with, it will be a scrap between a few teams for the top 4. 

  • Southampton have once again found a few gems in Pelle and Tadic

  • Charlie Austin can score in the Premier League, his fine technique and finish at St Mary's shows that.
  • Manchester United still look sloppy at the back, and the stick Rooney is getting for the red is a joke, questions about him being England captain?! I mean really? 


Champions League

  The Champions League returns this week on Tuesday Manchester City face Roma who have won every game so far this season. Chelsea travel to Portugal and face Sporting Lisbon, after their draw on the opening match day they will fancy their chances here. The stand-out game on Tuesday night has to be money bags PSG facing Barcelona. On Wednesday, Arsenal face the Turkish side Galatasaray after defeat in the first game at Dortmund a win here is vital. However they will be without Ramsey, Wilshere and Arteta but should still have enough to get all 3 points here. Liverpool travel to Basel in a game they should win even though Basel are top of the Swiss league. The holders Real Madrid face Ludogorets who gave Liverpool a run for their money. Spanish Champions Atletico Madrid face the Italian champions Juventus and Dortmund will hope for two wins in two as they travel to Anderlecht.

QPR - Who is to blame

It looks like QPR will be playing Championship football next season after a disappointing & gutting draw against Wigan on Sunday. After going down to 10 men when Bobby Zamora foolishly got himself sent off, Rangers took the lead with a goal by Lioc Remy who has been nothing more then sensational for QPR. However they let themselves down once again by giving away a free kick in the dieing seconds where Shaun Maloney curled it in to the top corner. As the silence fell at Loftus Road realisation was for the fans they knew there's no way they can crawl there way back and survive from this.   So who is to blame for the carnage of a season QPR have had:   1. Mark Hughes - This is the man who last season said 'We will never be in this position again with me in charge' Well he was right, in fact it was a even worse position.  Hughes wasted big money on players who simply didn't care & were just their for a final pay day. As the dust settles and all the teams have played their first games at this year’s World Cup I look back at the early talking points of the tournament. England’s performance was not the best but it also wasn’t the worst. Rob Greens howler will live long in the memory of English football now. He will get hounded at every away ground next season just like James, Carson and Robinson have gone through. I think England will learn a lot from the USA game, and I truly think that Joe Cole has to be on the pitch. I would play him behind Rooney which means dropping Heskey even though he did play well on Saturday. My team on Friday would be, Green (One more chance to save his England career), Johnson, Terry, Dawson, A. Cole, Barry, Lennon, Lampard, Gerrard, J. Cole and Rooney. The most impressive team so far have been Germany. They walked all over Australia and with a very young side they could go a long way.
